Deborah Valentine


Deborah is our station News Director and morning drive anchor. She’s won numerous awards including the first place 2004 Garden State Journalists Award for Radio, the 2004 and 2001 Associated Press Award for Best Newscast and the 2003 International Communicator Award. Deborah was also nominated as Best News Anchor in the prestigious NY AIR awards in 1999.

Deborah hails from the Albany, N.Y. She attended nearby Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. where she graduated with honors and a BA in Communications. Deborah’s first experience in radio was with her college radio station and as an intern with WEOK/WPDH in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

After college, Deborah spent several years working in the Mid-Hudson Valley for WKNY in Kingston, NY and WKIP and WHVW in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. From there she headed to Long Island as morning anchor for WGBB in Merrick, NY. While anchoring for WGBB Deborah also did correspondence work for several New York stations including WOR and WNBC. She also worked for the United Stations and ABC Radio Networks in New York, and until its untimely demise she was the latest member of the CBS-FM news team.

After spending years in the Big Apple it was back to Albany, NY where Deborah worked as morning news anchor at WCDC-FM and at WPTR/WFLY.

As fate would have it, it wasn’t long before Deborah headed back to the Big Apple. While working in Albany, Deborah was contacted by an engineer she met while working in New York for WOR-Radio. The rest they say is history. She married that engineer and returned to the New York Metropolitan area.

Deborah resides in Essex County, NJ with her husband. She spends part of her time working as the information officer for the Passaic County Office of Emergency Management and making appearances for state county and local civic organizations.
